Fork Brace - Lord Popgun - 04-16-2013

I like fork braces and while searching for one found a company in California that is looking to add them to their inventory.

However they do not have a bike to measure. As I emailed them about when they might be producing them, they sent me this email (also an offer is on the site).

I do not know how to post the template to for measuring, but if anybody is interested in this, I can email it to them. I have no interest in this company other than wanting to buy the product.

They sent:
By any chance do you know any riders in the Southern CA area and/ or forums where could find one?

Also, do you know if its the same as any other Hondas? To be sure, can you measure the fork diameter in mm (approx. 1/8 of an inch below the fork seal= where the brace wraps around), distance center to center and verify anyclearance issues (fenders, horns, etc).

I have also attached a template foryour reference. Any pictures would also be helpful (especially close up of the forks). We will discount your order in relation to how help you can
help.

Looking forward to your response,

I had a Superbrace fork brace on my 750 Nighthawk. I liked it on there, but it needed it.

Good to know it is a good product. I had a brace on my Sportster and it was a big improvement.

I edited my post above to show I just want to buy a brace. Not get one free or discounted, although it would be nice. If someone else can help them and get the deal, good for them and I hope someone does!

Tonight I sent them the measurements they wanted along with some pictures. I'll let you know if/when I hear anything.

I have been a member of the ZRX owners association for many years and am a maker of fork braces and many other accessories for the Kawasaki ZRX and the ZL900 / 1000 Eliminator.

I am looking to add the CB1100 to my list of products.
(I love the look of this bike!!!)

I sent you a PM for dimensions.

Thanks for your help.

Greg

ZRX,

I'm out of town right now and the info is on my other computer. I didn't keep the email I sent them in the sent mail folder so as to save space or I'd send it to you now.

I'll be home by Thursday and can will get back to you. They sent a template and I filled out what they wanted and sent some pics.

Haven't heard a word from Superbrace and they still don't have one avail. on their website.

Popgun, it sounds like you might need to change your signature at some point:

"If you happen upon a fork brace, take it!" Smile

RE: Fork Brace - CB4ME_imp - 06-03-2013

Webike has 2 or 3 fork braces for the CB1100. But are they needed? Will the average rider notice an improvement? How about a 2 up rider/passenger spending a lot of time on really bumpy back roads?

RE: Fork Brace - Lord Popgun - 06-04-2013

Personally I don't like the ones on webike. Too many parts or just look bad too me. Is one really needed? Probably not, but someone with more experience than me can speak to this.

I have put them on other bikes and they seemed to stiffen up the front end though, especially on a Sportster I had. AND, I just want one. On the crap roads we have in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area, one couldn't hurt.

Guth, I just have to BRACE myself in case I come to a fork in the road!

Are they needed???
(Depends on the rider....).

Do they work?
(Definitely!).

This is what the ones I make look like....

They are light, easy to install, look like they belong on the CB1100,
and work really well.
