cbr 929 rear end conversion help needed! - hahadumball_imp - 07-27-2013

i purchased an x11 from a friend and it has a 929 rear end..
not really my cup of tea but i can live with it..

now person before him made it like this and has used some bodge on the subframe mounts which looks like maccano.. a little plate of steel with holes in to adjust the height of the rear end, great idea but last hole is way too high i can only just about touch the floor and pillions cannot use the pillion seat, when i remove the maccano and use original mount hole it dosen't sit right as the rider seat has a huge gap between the front of the seat and the tank so not useable.

i was wondering if anyone could tell me what a 929 conversion is? what needs to be changed to so it, i can tell about an inch has been cut off rear subframe but wanted to know how much id have to change to put it back to standard

Well, no matter, a 929 is the last in a series of super sport race
type bikes made starting in 1992 with the CBR900RR (Fireblade).
The swing arm on that bike will be much shorter than X-11 due
to shorter wheelbase on the CBR929RR versus longer X-11. So
this conversion helps the X-11 steer quicker more like a race bike.

That's not a CBR929RR swingarm. However, the seat and tail section appear to be 929.
