Swapping front ends? and Exhaust? cbf1000 to cb1100 - ColinSiR_imp - 04-02-2015 I just bought a cb1100 hit on the front and I have a cbf1000 and curious if anyone has swapped the front forks? Also I need to put a stock exhaust back on this bike and have a dual exhaust off a cbf1000 as well. Has anyone done any swapping??!! Thanks...Colin RE: Swapping front ends? and Exhaust? cbf1000 to cb1100 - Ack-CB11_imp - 04-02-2015 Interesting project. You would have to get the triple clamps from the F to work on the CB. The inverted forks would be a great improvement. The exhaust I really don't think it has a chance. Keep us updated....... Ack RE: Swapping front ends? and Exhaust? cbf1000 to cb1100 - DGShannon_imp - 04-02-2015 Look through these guys photos: http://www.cerberusmoto.com/ They are working on a CB1100 cafe' project, and have already put an inverted front end on it. I am sure they can shed some light on what was invloved. RE: Swapping front ends? and Exhaust? cbf1000 to cb1100 - ColinSiR_imp - 04-02-2015 I will post what Ive done after the weekend. The fork tubes are the same diameter. The forks on the cbf1000 arent inverted so it looks like they will be a direct fit. Only difference Ill have to deal with is rotor/caliper combo that I will try to figure out this weekend. Its nice working at a bike wrecker!!! Thanks...Colin I will be chopping the rear and cleaning it up but this will be after the write-off inspection!!!! I have some ducati bars that I will be putting on and who knows what else Ill try to fit on this bike! I love it though! That's even easier, I guess you don't have the F wheel and brakes. Sounds like great fun , will check back Monday. The only picture I saw was this F, some kind of photo shop project? http://www.asphaltandrubber.com/wp-content/gallery/honda-cbf1000-by-luca-bar-design/honda-cbf1000-luca-bar-design-2.jpg Ack RE: Swapping front ends? and Exhaust? cbf1000 to cb1100 - ColinSiR_imp - 04-02-2015 Those are nice!! This is the one we have for parts http://p2m.mbike.com/000/001/171/44046765_d.jpg Fender fitment is different but I can rig something up no problem. We well see how the rotor's/calipers fit up! Thanks...Colin RE: Swapping front ends? and Exhaust? cbf1000 to cb1100 - ColinSiR_imp - 04-03-2015 Front end on. [url=http://smg.photobucket.com/user/ColinSiR/media/IMG_3313_zpsgv3e8oja.jpg.html] ![]() The cbf front fender was not going to cut it! [url=http://smg.photobucket.com/user/ColinSiR/media/IMG_3306_zpskftwgcbc.jpg.html] ![]() Brackets for fender. The fender is pretty low to the tire as well! We will see how that works out. [url=http://smg.photobucket.com/user/ColinSiR/media/IMG_3312_zpsidglxf1d.jpg.html] ![]() I put some renthal motocross bars and cut them down to 28" wide. It feels great now! [url=http://smg.photobucket.com/user/ColinSiR/media/IMG_3309_zpswbjzockx.jpg.html] ![]() All shined up [url=http://smg.photobucket.com/user/ColinSiR/media/IMG_3321_zpsjn5d9dtt.jpg.html] ![]() [url=http://smg.photobucket.com/user/ColinSiR/media/IMG_3320_zpscuswyi1k.jpg.html] ![]() Now I need to find a stock exhaust so I can get it to pass the write off inspection. Anyone on Canada want to lend me some pipes?? Ill pay $$!! Thanks...Colin My next step after the inspection is chop everything off the rear and cleaning the frame right up. Rear fender coming off going to retrofit small brake light under seat and shave the seat down and get it re-covered. Should be a nice looking bike after that but it'll be a while
