My final drive chain has some kinks that seem to be persistent. Maybe I need to clean the chain better, or maybe it's failing. Has 26,000 miles on it. It's not very stretched - seems to have at least 60% of it's life left by that measure. Not something I want to take a risk with.
Do any of the old pro's here have any advice?

Kinks or tight links are a sign that the chain is spent and needs replacement. Over 26K seems quite reasonable chain life. Best replace the sprockets also.

That is one kinky set of links. Redbirds is right. Replace it. DID X-ring and new sprockets.

Alright, I want to know what your chain maintenance routine has been. That chain looks ridiculously clean, but I can clearly see the link bind-up where the chain meets the bottom of the rear sprocket. What were your habits?
That said, 26k is a good lifespan for a chain & sprockets. For a relatively cheap replacement...it's a good peace of mind for the next 25 thousand miles.

Pauley- Sprocket teeth look pretty good. I'd bet on non-visible wear, though. I'll change 'em out to be safe.
Jim - maintenance was frequent lubes and thorough flush with lube, but infrequent cleaning with chain cleaner. Probably relied on the flushing with lube too much. Maybe more dunking in kerosene would help.
Environment - very little rain, occasional wash, always garaged
Riding - many highway miles, but also many twisties and a couple of track days. No sand or dirt. Coastal rides, where salt air might possibly play some role.
That's all I can think of.

I'm at 24k miles and probably not far behind you. I never remember to keep it lubed and ride in all weather. I did one hail Mary deep clean and lube at 20k to stretch things out a little.

For chain and sprockets replacement, are there any other miscellaneous parts I'll need, like new bolts, washers, seals or so forth? Is it a 110 link length?
Hoping to order order a 530 D.I.D. X-ring chain and sprockets today, so I can tackle this job asap.
