New owner, exact model desination - zippooriginal_imp - 07-27-2016

I am the proud owner of a NEW 2014 Black CB1100. I am a bit confused. I was led to believe I have a CB1100E. The owners manual I received with the bike is labeled a CB1100A and CB1100AS.
I want to order mods for my bike, but I need to know the exact model I have to get the correct parts.
Can anyone fill me in???
I want to get a soft saddlebag support, plus a rear tail rack, and finally a the Comet 2 fairing. From what I've found the rear tail rack and the saddlebag support I want are Honda OEM parts. How can I best order them?
Can't wait to get my bike set up to make a trip from New Mexico to PA.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Check out this [url=http://www.cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=9064]post for model designations. It's a bit confusing.

Congrats on the new CB! Thumbs Up

I haven't seen any combination of rear rack + saddle bag supports for this bike. There has been some improvising, but no system that I have seen.

Get a new seat for that long ride.

Zippo, more than likely it's the CB1100A. The CB1100SA will be the DLX model which is red.

Soft (or even hard) saddlebags can be a problem with this bike. Most of the touring sized bags will bump up against the unusually large rear turn signals. The solution is to relocate the signals rearward or settle for smaller sized bags. If you put "saddlebags" into the search box that should keep you busy for a few hours looking at the various options.

BTW, I grew up in Las Cruces just down the road from you. Welcome to the forum.

You can also click on the link in my signature if you want info on relocating the turn signals.

Thanks guys, your input is a big help to this newbie to the 1100.
I had a predecessor to the 1100, a 1979 Honda CB750F. I loved that bike and it took me all over the western rocky states. Being on the 1100 is like being home again, I'm looking forward to doing more on the 1100 soon.
Also had a 1971 Honda 750 that took me from CA to NY and much more.

Thanks for your link and info about the turn signals. I have a feeling I'll be doing just the same. And also a big thanks about your replacement mirrors from/for a CB500F. I love the look of them and they'll greatly compliment the look of my black 2014. I copied the pix you supplied so I can order the correct part number.

There is another mirror option that is similar (but more aggressive looking) from the CBR1000R I believe. There are pictures in the mirror options thread.
