Help identifying electrical connector - postoak_imp - 08-12-2016 I'm putting the stock rear turn signals on and the new ones from Partzilla came with electrical connectors that don't match what is on the bike. Are these something standard that have a name? That is the stock and correct connector by the way. RE: Help identifying electrical connector - postoak_imp - 08-12-2016 The wires that come out behind the garnishes are female bullet connectors. I don't know if these were replaced by the first owner or what. Ha, wouldn't you know there's something like a Motorcycle Connectors R US? RE: Help identifying electrical connector - Lord Popgun - 08-13-2016 Yes that is where I get connectors for the bike. The leads on the rear signals are supposed to be long enough to be routed properly back to the connector in the boot by the battery. If you have a service manual the routing is in there. If not, PM me and I can help with that. Hopefully you bike harness isn't hacked up. I would look in the boot first and see what is going on. Sounds like he just cut the signal harness and put on bullet connectors. You should be able to unplug it at the boot and route your new cable back to it and plug in. Yeah, I found the connectors under the box that holds the tool kit -- one orange and one blue. This box was sitting loose, is it supposed to be fastened down in some way? It's got all sort of holes and tabs and hooks on it but nothing obvious springs to mind as to what might hold it in. What is that fluid cylinder down by the fuse box? RE: Help identifying electrical connector - Lord Popgun - 08-13-2016 Rear brake reservoir. The tool box is held in by one screw and a plastic reuseable rivit. The screw looks like a Phillips, but is actually JIS. The nut for it is a flat piece that fits up under the plastic fender piece (don't know offhand what it is called). You can see it from the right side from the rear looking up under there to see if it is missing (it is not supposed to fall out) I'll post a link in a few to the part list. The little hooks and tabs are for the rubber o-ring that holds the tool kit in place. http://www.partzilla.com/parts/search/Honda/Motorcycle/2013/CB1100+AC/REAR+FENDER/parts.html 17 and 18 hold the box and 6 is the "nut". 12 in the o ring. Doesn't actually look like the pic. There are 2 6's are one is for the tool box and one for the brake reservoir. RE: Help identifying electrical connector - postoak_imp - 08-13-2016 Is it in the rear fender section labeled battery cover? http://www.partzilla.com/parts/search/Honda/Motorcycle/2013/CB1100+AC/REAR+FENDER/parts.html It looks like the person who did this threw away parts 12, 17, and 18 plus what ever held that bolt in from the lower side. What was #12, the tool band for, and where does it fit and how? Is #18 the rivit you were talking about? Where does it go? The bolt seemed to fit through a rectangular bolt clip that is inserted from under the fender. I think it might be part #6. I can't tell if there was something through the left hand bottom hole. Opposite that hole is a long plastic tube open from the bottom. RE: Help identifying electrical connector - Lord Popgun - 08-13-2016 The tool band: put tool bag in box, hook the band on the 2 hooks at the bottom of the box and pull the top over the hook at the top of the box. Makes a triangle and is just to hold the tool bag in place. The rear section I am talking about is item 13. You can see the flat bolts, one on top one under it lower down. I'm not sure about the long plastic tube. Can you post a pic? Okay, here's the rear bottom of the box. You can see the corresponding hole from underneath lower left. And you can see (on the right) the missing bolt clip and the hole it goes in, below where the other clip is. (On second thought, that hole may be out of sight.) Thanks for being so patient.
