Been there, done that. I'm looking to NOT get stranded because a darn connector broke down. Both my ST1100 and Vulcan Classic did it to me in the past.

I think there is a post here somewhere about this. Anyway, I've had great luck with "tuner cleaner" and a contact burnisher to clean, then a small dose of Di-electric grease.
