Wiring heated grips - adventureAF_imp - 10-24-2017

I'm in the process of installing the Koso Apollo heated grips. I've unsuccessfully searched the forum for a place to tap into switched power near the battery as well as a good ground location.

Does anyone have any suggestions for this? I haven't looked into wiring into the headlight yet because the wiring for the grips is quite bulky.

Any help or suggestion is appreciated.

May be, you could find something like this and use it by replacing a fuse of a switched line. The fuse box is below the battery compartment.

How many amps do the grips draw? There is an accessory connector down by the battery in a boot.

Popgun, I believe the grips draw 4 amps or less as there's a 4 amp inline fuse on them. I can't find the accessory connector under the seat, all I see are white, orange, and blue connectors in the boot next to the fuse box, all are used. I don't see an unused 2 pin connector, am I looking in the right spot?

Popgun, I believe the grips draw 4 amps or less as there's a 4 amp inline fuse on them. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk the connector bundle in your hand in the photo 2013 model will have a two wire connector with a black/browntracer wire which is 12 volt switched and protected by fuse (D) 10 AMP and a green ground wire.after 2013 the connector will be a four wire,use the same color wires, black/brown tracer 12 volt switched, 10 amp fuse protected and green ground

All, thanks for the input. Thanks I finally got some time to finish this. I hate cutting and splicing wires so if I can avoid it, I do. I ended up simply drilling a hole in the accessory connector cap (the white one that I am holding in the pic) directly above the switched lead. I soldered the end of the power wire coming off the grips to make it rigid. I passed that wire through the hole in the cap and pushed it into the connector, reattached the cap and placed a drop of glue around the wire where it comes through the cap. I attached the ground wire to the frame. No cutting or splicing! Grips work great and shut off with the key. they are super clean looking too as the control is integrated into the grip. $115!
