Hey fellow enthusiasts , purchased a 17’ cb1100 in March of this year, first fuel injected bike coming from a carbureted 02’ c50. I’ve noticed with the Honda that there seems to be a slight delay on throttle input after gear changes, resulting in “not so smooth” acceleration. I adjusted throttle free play to the tighter side because initially the throttle free play was a bit loose from the dealer but that didn’t solve my issue. Is this delay in throttle input a common characteristic of this bike?

for first time FI users this phenomenon feels a bit funny, because there are no transition jets like a pilot jet, in a fi system, but you soon get used to it. I tend not to roll my throttle 100% off to the stop when rolling off the gas, so I am always feeding in a little gas. This is my third FI bike so it feels natural to me now. The smoother the throttle hand, the more you will be rewarded with smoothness.

Its pretty common even in cars. It takes time for the throttle info to get to the ECU and then for the ECU to tell the injectors.

I don’t have a problem on the bike, but I hate when in the car I stomp the gas to pass or merge or something and the car is like-what? You want to go faster. OK, here I go, just wait for it Smile

It also took me a 1000 miles to get used to the fuel injection , now easy to ride and I do the same as Ferrett , keep a little gas coming.

Thanks guys for the input [Image: 0262997ebc4ca32c894d6fbcdf3ffe0a.png] guess I gotta adjust the right wrist for smoother riding if that’s the case
