2013 ABS with 20k? - socal-dustin_imp - 12-01-2021
Hey I'm looking at a 2013 ABS with 20k miles on it tomorrow. Has new tires and new fork seals. Anything else I should look out for besides normal wear and tear?
The owner is asking $6500, but I think that's steep given the mileage. I'm in Southern CA, though, so price may be fair.
Thoughts?

If it’s in good shape and unmolested, $5000 would be a fair price. Make sure it’s really an ABS model, because lots of folks mistakenly think their ‘13 is an ABS.

socal-dustin, welcome to the forum. If the bike has ABS, there will be a slotted sensor ring on the front wheel. The one on the rear wheel is a speed sensor. The VIN will also begin JH2SC655.

For comparison, I recently sold my 2014 Standard (black) in Northern California. Asking price was $7,000, and I sold it for $6,700.
My bike also had nearly new tires (Metzeler Roadtec Z8 Interact). No need for new fork seals because the bike had only 6,200 miles on it.

Look very closely at the fork tubes for pitting, or any damage to the chrome. I'm in S. Ca, my bike is stored indoors, and is almost never ridden in the rain, and one of my fork tubes began pitting. I used this as an excuse to purchase the upgraded forks used on the 2017 model.

Yeah, my fork tubes pitted a wee bit after years of the CB1100 being stored outdoors in the heat 'n' humidity of summer and the hard bowels of arctic winter.
But, solvable in about 10 minutes of effort using "Peek" metal polish.

The 2017 front forks are great upgrade on the earlier ones.
