Mobil 1 on offer - Jfro5687_imp - 06-18-2019

Hi all. This isn't an oil thread as such. So Don't panic. In the UK, Halfords (which is a motor car/cycle parts type shop for those overseas) have motorcycle Mobil 1 oils on big discount, nearly a tenner off which is a big saving. I nearly bought some in readiness for the next oil change but I Couldn't see the cb1100ex in the index card so left it. Has anyone used it and had good or bad experiences? Just thought it was worth asking here......

I have used the MOTORCYCLE Mobil 1 10/40 Synthetic for MANY years and love it , also in my CB 1100.

Ok, not to fire up an oil thread, but I'm going to fire up an oil thread because we're talking about price here. 10/40 is a lot easier to find than 10/30 at a good deal where I"m located, and Mobil 1 10/30 is hard to find where I am period. Do you guys use 10/40 in the CB commonly rather than 10/30? Not going to get into the "which brand" rabbit hole.. and of course, I'm talking about motorcycle oil, not car oil. And yes, I know what the manual says. Just asking the one question. Thanks.

I always use the 10/40 , more concerned about the higher temperatures than the low ones on our air cooled bikes and do not forget the global warming !

Heat is one of my concerns as well, and I'd rather use 10/40 if there are no ill effects on the Honda. Not to mention that the Bonneville uses it, and having one case of oil in my garage makes it easy.

I use 10W40 in summer (+40C) and winter (-20C) without any issues. I should use a thinner oil in winter, but the CB doesn't seem cranky at all. In fact, I think the CB is more cranky in the hot season after re-starting the engine that has been running for awhile.

I used 10/40 in the winter in Upstate NY in my CBX,s and all my other bikes, never had any issues.

Good testimonials. I'll probably change oil again when we're at our hottest in CA in a few months, will most likely go 10/40. Thanks, guys.

10/40 Since day 1 here.
