LED turn signals - Jeff in OH_imp - 03-06-2020

I know this subject has been covered before but it has been a couple of years. Can I replace my turn signals with LED's and install the Posh digital flasher without it causing any other electrical problems? Also can someone tell me the best LED bulb that will fit the bucket of my 2014 CB1100? Thank you.

Bumping this post. About to do something similar.

This might help you: http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=5424&highlight=POSH

In the past, Honda ran a dual filament bulb in the fronts, with a low 8 watt filament for a running light that stayed on all the time, and a higher 23 watt one for the turn signal.

Later, to make the turn signal more distinctive, they would shut off that side's running light using an interim "position" relay. They used a simple 2-wire flasher ($5-$10), which you could replace for LED turn signals with an adjustable, equally cheap flasher.

Now, on the CB1100, front turn bulbs are 21 watt single filament. The flasher unit now has 8-pins, and steps down voltage for the running lights, but gives full voltage in flasher mode.

No easy way around the relay, and not sure if the Posh relay is available anymore (didn't see it on Samurai or the POSH website). And not sure if the POSH relay eliminated the running lights, as I can't see it stepping down voltage enough to do so.

I think this might be the POSH relay: https://japan.webike.net/products/24231555.html

I've got a set of LED signals I got from COGNITO MOTO and was told I won't need the flasher but if I did they sell it for I think $40. COGNITO MOTO set some of the nicest parts I've ever seen produced.

Sooo did they work without the flasher?

Haven't tried them yet,my bikes getting a facelift this winter and these are part of the plan.

Maybe the aftermarket LEDs are not drawing enough circuit current to properly engage the flasher? If that is the case, you may need to put the appropriate value and sized resister (if applicable) in parallel to the LED.

Can't recall: Is the flasher on the CB1100 electromechanical, or solid-state?

Solid state.
