Workshop Tool List for CB1100 ? - bflint - 11-16-2020 I am thinking about doing CB1100 valve adjustment myself because local quality motoshops are few (in San Diego) and the quality ones have huge backlogs. Also want to remove outer engine covers (clutch, etc) and front fork tubes to refinish. Looking for a suggested list of workshop tools I should buy to accomplish all of this. Assume torque wrench, but stuck after that
RE: Workshop Tool List for CB1100 ? - zirconxi_imp - 11-16-2020 For valve clearance, I think I did it with standard socket size 8 - 14, Allen key, a Philips and flathead screwdriver and plyer, valve gauge set, micrometer, magnetized bendable thingy (not sure what its call), plastic scrapper, unused clothes, few cups of coffee, that's about it... Can't remember correctly the socket size I use to turn the crank, but I think that's the biggest socket i used. Fork tube haven't done before can't advice. But for wheels and front brake mostly is also standard size sockets other than the wheel axle nut using a big hex socket. And the video on yt which explains how and why, notice the small hole in the mounting surface of the tensioner body, some oil pressure and lubrication provided to the tensioner hence the need for the aluminium washer under the adjustment bolt as i understand it; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiEomqC-UBI RE: Workshop Tool List for CB1100 ? - Lord Popgun - 11-17-2020 You da man, Max!! |
