 front suspension oil change CB1100 EX 2015 (23700 kms). recommendations ?. - Alfgaxatico_imp - 11-21-2020

I'm going to change front suspension oil on Monday; the CB1100 ex 2015; with 23600 km it is 5 years old; and I doubt it was changed every 2 years which is recommended. the rear shock absorbers; in a while I will put OHLINS ... since I do not see another brand that does not break the aesthetics of the CB (how ugly the yellow ones are ...) and guarantee.

I put Ohlins rear shocks on my 2014 DLX, and really like them. The model I chose is HO 011, and they have chrome springs. I really feel the difference when taking long rides (my butt doesn't hurt as much as it used to with the stock shocks).

I put Ohlins on all my three CB 1100 's and also use the chrome springs and not the yellow ones .

Mine is the 2011 model without the dual bending valve - Oil weight is 10W with 117mm air gap. I read your intro, at 125kg you may want to use a 0.9kg-0.95kg spring and 15W oil. There's a lot of choices for the rear end. Good luck with the project.

that's how it is friend; in my honda africa twin adventure sports 2018 dct; I put those springs in front, and OHLINS back ... - but the suspension was very weak for my weight (and my wife's 64 kg) -. here I see by definition the CB 1100 ex 2015; more "fixed" the suspension; but I will act ahead; and behind ; I will soon opt for other ohlins (chrome) ... as my fellow forum member said in this post.

Well ..
My decision; is :
1.- change oil front suspension .. to 15W
2.- rear ; change to ohlins HO 011 S36 DRL1 ; silver Ánd spring at my weight; 125 kg add my wife ... (64 kg) - anything ...

I think that is a better solution that actual suspension ..

good; front suspension oil changed; which ... oil was missing !!!! ; We do not know if the previous owner changed it badly; or from the factory it came like this ... I have put thickness 15W instead of 10W ... (weight 125 kg and 1.90 m) and reserved the rear Stx36 ohlins and the possibility of raising 0.9 mm in height; with springs for my weight (chrome silver color) .. € 900 placed. With this and change of wheels to Metzeler Z8 roadtec interact; I already have this machine up to date ... with 18-inch wheels ... I think it is a great great improvement.

I can say that there is a remarkable change; same journey back home; and rough strips on the ground to limit speed; now they only punish me in the rear; before it was front and back. Sparkly .
