Comfort Mods to RS - Mitch_imp - 04-12-2020 Hello I started suffering shoulder and throttle hand discomfort on long rides so I installed Bar Risers Voight MT and Kaoko Throttle Lock. Initial results are positive and now looking forward to end of Pandemic so I can test on long ride. RE: Comfort Mods to RS - Lord Popgun - 04-12-2020 Mitch, you're going to get asked, so I'll do it Did you have to get any longer cables or hoses?
RE: Comfort Mods to RS - The A-man - 04-12-2020 I have both a throttle lock as well as a "cramp buster". I find that the cramp buster is worth it's weight in gold! You use the heel of your hand to control speed, and can just rest your throttle fingers on the brake lever for a brief respite. Worth a try for around $15 -$20. The throttle lock works fine on flat road, but here in the hills it's less useful. RE: Comfort Mods to RS - Mitch_imp - 04-13-2020 Hello Again, No issues with length of cables or hoses. Mitch RE: Comfort Mods to RS - Redbird_imp - 04-15-2020 I’ll second the crampbuster and throttle lock combo. I like having both options available. RE: Comfort Mods to RS - peterbaron - 04-15-2020 Had Kaoko throttle lock on my '13 model. Did not wish to transfer to the '14. IMHO, the most simple device is a better option, at least for me...unless you have OEM RE: Comfort Mods to RS - Tev62 - 02-10-2022 I have the Voight risers on one of my other bikes, excellent quality German product. They have a good selection of risers for the CB1100EX/RS (SC65 & SC78), 20, 25 & 30mm risers only and a 30mm rise/21mm closer set too. RE: Comfort Mods to RS - Nachodaddy - 02-10-2022 Awhile back I ordered a set of set-back/risers that look like the Voigt, but were a generic brand on Amazon. I returned them because, when tightened down there was a gap between top and bottom. They were very nicely made and looked good otherwise. Very small gap, but it worried me. Is that gap anything to be concerned about? Is that gap anything to be concerned about? Possibly not. Some designs have a gap at the front and rear and some have no gap at the front and an open gap at the rear as in my example shown here. As long as you follow given torque settings for your type all should be well. RE: Comfort Mods to RS - Nachodaddy - 02-10-2022 Thanks Tev62. |
