headlight adapter - j3gq_imp - 07-13-2022

Would anybody know if there is an aftermarket adapter to transform this Honda headlight connecter into an H4 or H7 connector?

You have to identify the connector, once you have done that you would have to identify which pins Honda used and for what. It is just a connector and every manufacturer could use it in a different way so there is not going to be a standard "conversion cable". Then you need to find out what rating each circuit is rated at and how it is protected. After having done all that you want to understand if your new H4 or H7 bulb draws too much current for the circuit. Whatever it is you want to do I'm not sure it will ever be worth it.

An 8 pin connector must be the OEM LED

EDIT:

You need to buy:
* 2014 head lamp reflector to accommodate new LED-H4 bulb
* H4/9003 switching ground polarity module,
* a proper, 8 pin male connector housing to be plugged into existing OEM female harness, otherwise yo have to cut OEM wires = NOT recommended
*variety of coloured wires AND male pins that can be properly LOCKED in male connector housing - very important, so not just any pins, as these have different sizes and locking configurations. Pin will always fit and lock in its housing if properly oriented
* proper wire gauging is essential

Yes, I understand it is the headlamp connector, just nothing special to Honda, any manufacturer could use it anywhere on a bike and wire it as they please.

RE: headlight adapter - j3gq_imp - 07-14-2022

Seems like I need to add a few bits, just to be sure:
- the connector I have shown is the original connector inside my LED headlight bucket (EX built 2017)
- so yes, that is factory
- everything PeterB says makes sense (I am familiar with electrics and crimping in general - just don't know much about this particular Honda's scheme)
- finally, since the diagram does not show the light bulb, not on the left nor on the right, I am a bit concerned that the connector in the diagram is actually NOT (?) the connector to which the LED unit connects ???
- why do I need the "H4/9003 switching ground polarity module" ?
- would you know what the abbreviation BAT means ?
Thanks

The "BAT" are 12v powered wires from the battery and through the "D" Headlight fuse and "F" Meter/Illumination fuse.
Also the connector is available and can be individually purchased including the tiny wires and pins from a supplier in England.

I did the basic research and concluded that this method to upgrade the headlight into "H4" is too expensive, IMHO, it is more cost effective just to add a pair of projector/spot lights and leaves every wires/connectors original.

BTW, another Forum member from Europe upgraded his 2017 headlight, I cannot find that tread to attach. Sorry. Dodgy

Please note: Should you buy the proper male connector (from England) you will likely need to use a relay as the Honda wires are very thin and may not have the capability to carry the higher amps requirements of the H4 bulbs.
