After market turn signal on CB 1100rs 2018 not working - Saltani_imp - 03-07-2019 Hello everyone, On my CB 1100rs 2018, I’ve installed “Motogadget blaze disc” turn signals that are supposed to be a plug & play job but it hasn’t worked. The lights do not go on. Can anyone tell me if the electrical signal on the 2018 is the same as in the older models? Or is it a digital signal? Or is there something I need to install something?? RE: After market turn signal on CB 1100rs 2018 not working - pekingduck - 03-07-2019 I installed a pair of similar style lights and have 2 suggestions. Because it is an LED, it will only work if the ground and power wires are hooked up backwards. We don't have your model in the US, but standard Honda color coding is orange (or orange/white) for left, green for ground, and blue (or blue/white) for right. You can't damage it wiring it backwards - it just won't light. Because the single LED draws so little current, it won't activate the stock flasher unit. I had to buy a separate adjustable flasher unit: [url=https://www.amazon.com/Audew-Electronic-Signal-Flasher-Motorcycle/dp/B011BTMDQM/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=electronic+flasher+relay&qid=1551979412&s=gateway&sr=8-5]https://www.amazon.com/Audew-Electronic-...way&sr=8-5 RE: After market turn signal on CB 1100rs 2018 not working - max - 03-07-2019 Did the original ones have a replaceable lamp inside them? After watching some video's i wonder; have you turned them too much so the very small wires have broken? Did you only do the front signals or all four? From another video it suggests that you can apply 12 volts to the red and black wires, does the orange led light up when mounted inside the handlebar ends? How did you route the wires to the headlight? On some models the polarity ( plus and minus ) has been reversed on the REAR indicator lights, you may want to confirm this on your model, do you have a multimeter to check this? Not clear from the video but with some led's you may need an additional resistor on each side to make the controller "think" all lights are functional by presenting the correct amount of load to it, if one lamp is defective the other lamp will blink faster to indicate a faulty indicator lamp. Did you test the led's before installing them? If the led indicators are installed and connected properly the led's should still light up but may be flashing faster, which is not happening according to your post. RE: After market turn signal on CB 1100rs 2018 not working - pekingduck - 03-07-2019 Probably the first test I would do is to hook one of the turn signals directly to a battery, reversing the wires if needed. You can even just use a 9-volt smoke detector battery to test. RE: After market turn signal on CB 1100rs 2018 not working - Saltani_imp - 03-07-2019 Thanks to everyone. Forgot to mention that the stock indicator lights are LEDs! The Ground (Green) is pos+ and the Blue (Right) and the Orange (Left) Neg- If its still happening then you may have blown a fuse if you wired them as you did. Worth a check and pop a meter on them to be sure. Good Luck RE: After market turn signal on CB 1100rs 2018 not working - leung_imp - 12-08-2022 I having the same problem, Honda dealer install rizoma club led , not flashing right, he says need a relay because not enough volt going to the light, not sure which relay to order? |
