Good day everybody!!
I hope you are all having some nice rides and amazing trips
I have come again seeking for help so I can have a better understanding how this beautiful machine works
It has come to my attention some leaking in the oil pan at the left side of my engine and I was just wondering if there's a gasket between the engine and the oil pan, I am not able to see anything in between other than a thin layer of silicone.
What should i do? I'm thinking in removing the whole oil pan then adding some silicone and put it back in my next oil change schedule.
Has anyone experience this before I have attached some pictures so you can have a better idea.

Hi,
Before you strip it down, you could try torquing up all the engine bolts to make sure they are correct.
If there aren’t any that stand out as loose and it continues you can try it again but loosen each one a smidge then torque up to the correct tightness incase there’s a bit of stiction.
Might be worth casting an eye over the workshop manual too, just to see it there are any notes on it.
Also, with regard to the gasket, I’m fairly sure it’s a liquid gasket and there isn’t a material one in there - not 100% tho. and a look at a parts diag. should confirm.

I believe you are the first to report an oil pan leak.
The service manual says to use Three Bond 1207B or equivalent. Amazon has it available. I got mine there.
A Google search says the Locktite equivalent is 5970 but 1207B is much better. YMMV.
SM says to tighten the bolts in a chriscross pattern in 2 or three steps. A specific torque value is not listed or shown.

id say that coming from the allen plug or higher up the pan uses honda bond gasket maker no gasket but i highly doubt thats the leak clean it and ride a little see if you can see the source better use some carb or brake cleaner

Hi!
Quick question, where is this big allen bolt connected to? Is it going through the oil pan? Or is it going to the crankcase? Should I tighten this one as well? Because I have tighten all small 8mm bolts underneath based on popgun advise (thank you btw)
I will ride this afternoon to the city to get some groceries and I will check if it's still leaking.
I can't thank you guys enough for your replies and I appreciate all the help you are always willing to provide

I can’t find anything specifically on that big allen bolt in the SM or even a good picture in the crankcase section. Typically ones like that are gallery plugs and this appear to be one of them. There are others on the engine that are very obviously gallery plugs. The parts listing doesn’t seem to show it, but you can look here, or pick a different year: https://www.partsfish.com/oemparts/a/hon/511a8d7ef870022e4ccd3242/crankcase
One of the listed flange bolts is it, I would imagine.
Gallery plugs are usually a install at the factory and never touched again kind of thing. At least mine is bone dry. Hope it stays that way
Before you go messing with a lot of bolts, you should follow the above advice and clean off all the oil and just ride the bike. After every ride check for leaks and find the actual source and go from there.
Oil leaks can be in places that are not where the oil ends up due to wind blowing it, or dripping, etc.

Can it be the chain lube? the bike is leaning over when parked and some lube may gradually find it's way down the surface of the engine.
Using wd90 gear oil this is what my left side of the engine looks like, it just wicks down to this part of the block.
Does not worry me because the paint does not corrode under that " protective layer ", just something to check.

lol - for sure Popgun.
If it is slung chain juice (like W90 gear oil, or similar), at least it will hide any real lump leaks you may have.
