Tool Kit Question - HondaJon_imp - 06-21-2013
Just curious as to what is supposed to be in the tool kit, Mine consists of the the following;
1- fuse puller
1 - Allen key
1 - screwdriver handle
1- Phillips screwdriver insert for handle
1 - blue bag
Not, that I need the tools, I am just curious. The manual doesn't say.
I am in the USA.

That is all you get in the current version of the USA tool kit. The additional items can be purchased for about a total of $55.00 at the following link.

After reading about Cruz Tools in a couple of different magazine articles over the past year, I opted for the [url=http://cruztools.com/products/kitsmetric.html]Speedkit JAS.
Better quality tools for less money than the Honda offerings. Add a preload adjuster wrench and keep it tucked away under the seat in the nice little zip pouch Cruz Tools includes.

Yeah, it bugged the crap outta me, as well.
Maybe I'm getting old but we used to at least get the tools to do required jobs, like adjust the chain and set the shocks.

Followed Guth's suggestion and bought the Cruz kit. It arrived today and I am very happy with it! Many thanks for the suggestion. I will likely carry tis kit on all of my Hondas.

My Yamaha FZ8 came with a full tool kit but apparently Honda is not doing this any longer.

As for tools, I like having the prescribed original equipment kit on board. I also have spare light bulbs for the headlight, running lights, and turn signals.
50 years from now, when Wayne Carini III finds my bike in my barn, covered with an inch of dust, he will take off the seat and say something like; "not only did he put Marvel Mystery Oil in the cylinders, but he has the complete factory tool kit which looks like it has never been used. Man, you just don't see that. Let's put in some fresh fuel, charge the battery and start her up".
That's what I'm hoping for. lol.

That's what I'm hoping for. lol. Darn smart. I also carry a tubeless plug repair kit and can of inflator/sealant. I went 15 years between flats but when they happen, you are stuck. If you catch the nail or screw before the bead breaks you can at least limp home or to help.
