cb on its way to europe - bronx boy_imp - 08-12-2013

so saturday, i sent my gasoline and motoroilless (i don't know, is motor oil less better? i am thinking that combined it reads almost like lioness or goddess...motoroilless...no, i am wrong) motor oil less cb to the atlas shipping company. they are going to air freight my 3 month old baby to bucharest, romania, and she is expected to disembark or deplane (...another word that i do not like) on 8/27/13. unfortunately, i will not be there when she arrives.
i assume that she will be treated with the respect, kindness, and care that any 3 month old deserves. i will arrive on 8/30/13, and with a little less than 4 liters of 10w30, and maybe 6 liters of benzina, si vom pleca (we will be on our way...in romanian).
we will be together for about a month (depending on work)...then i will leave her, come home spend six months reloading my wallet...then another month of riding...then back to work for 6, etc...,etc..., and so forth. this until i have covered everything that i want to see on the continent, run out of money, or get thrown out. in any case, there should be a story or two which come of it.
i have installed the corbin seat with the back, as i intent to do some two up riding, and i welded up a frame for soft sidebags and a soft topcase.
it's not quite frankenstein, but it will pass in transylvania (can't believe that i never took a picture of this thing, but i will send it next month).
i really picked this bike for this purpose as i believe with its low center of gravity and the straight up riding position will make it easy to short distance "tour". also the weight is light compared to most touring bikes, and the bike looks cool ...especially with a new york license plate in... anywhere across the pond.
can't wait...keep you posted.

Sounds like quite an adventure bro. You can pick up one of those Romanian brides to ride on the back!

Hi, Bronx Boy. Sounds like a great, fun plan!
Will Romania be your 'hub'? Why Romania?

Thank you.

I will look forward to some ride reports! I too have had an idea germinating in the back of my mind...it entails me shipping my CB all the way from Australia to England, then taking 6-8 months of long service leave / holiday leave and just ride around Europe..yeah I think the CB will be perfect for short hopping touring as well!

How about a picture of you and the bike in by Vlad's castle? Try not to get impaled... Wink
