A lot of different CB 1100s - the Ferret - 02-19-2014 You know we tend to think of the CB 1100 as one small model ( I guess cause in the USA that is all we have had) but when you stop to think of all the different guises of the CB 1100, there really are a lot Lets see.. the 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013s for other markets came in black, white, blue (2 blues?) silver (2 silvers?).... hey...how come no one has joined the forum with a silver CB 1100 yet ?.. I wonder ![]() the 2013 USA model comes in one shade of red, the 2014 USA Deluxe in another shade of red the std 2014 USA model comes in another shade of black silver engines, black engines silver wheels, black wheels with polished edges, all black wheels with tank stripes and without tank stripes low seat, high seat 4 into 1 exhaust, 4 into 2 exhaust Standard, EX, and Deluxe models 5 speed transmissions, 6 speed transmissions 2 different size turn signals 2 different sets of gauges 2 different types of handlebars 2 different passenger grab rails 2 different gas tanks various parts either painted or polished Honda has invested a lot of effort into this bike.. 5 years, multiple iterations, loads of subtle changes. RE: A lot of different CB 1100s - The Spaceman_imp - 02-19-2014 Looks like we got us a Heap o' Hondas! RE: A lot of different CB 1100s - Buffalohead_imp - 02-19-2014 Chrome turn signals and black turn signals. (I don't care for the look of the black turn signals) RE: A lot of different CB 1100s - road dog_imp - 02-19-2014 (02-19-2014, 01:32 AM)The ferret_imp Wrote: You know we tend to think of the CB 1100 as one small model ( I guess cause in the USA that is all we have had) but when you stop to think of all the different guises of the CB 1100, there really are a lot This is the thing I've started paying a lot more attention to lately. While I'd prefer to have the 4 into 2 exhaust and 6 speed tranny of the new Deluxe model, I also really like the black motor with polished aluminum accents (and matching wheels) that's reminiscent of some CB SuperSports of yore. If anyone can give me all the scoop on US engine colors (past, present and future) I'd love ya for it. ![]() Coz if they're doing an all silver motor Deluxe model I may be in for another disappointing year.
RE: A lot of different CB 1100s - Randy B - 02-19-2014 Ferret its actually gonna be 4 gauge sets if you think about it. Sure there are the two styles, but then you the th KMH only set and the MPH/KMH set. Stopped at my local dealer and made a trip over to Sporttour a big acc dealer on the north west side of Cinti to say hello. My street still has ice on it, so I was 4 wheeling, but I did see two bikes out today..a 38 Beemer with a sidecar with a dog in it, and another newer beemer. RE: A lot of different CB 1100s - flynrider - 02-19-2014 One thing I noticed about the 2014 US Standard was that it closely resembles a Japan-only version that was available in 2012 and 2013. It was called "Black Style" and featured the blacked out engine, wheels and sidecovers that the US 2014 model has. When I first saw the pic of the '14 US Standard, my first thought was that they had recycled the Black Style concept for the US market. |
