I was organizing files on my computer and ran across this pic. While it looks like a normal '13 U.S. model, looks can be deceiving.

This pic was posted to the Nighthawk forum in April 2010. The poster saw it on a weekend ride somewhere in CA and said it was wearing manufacturer plates. It looks like a prototype of what would eventually be the U.S model.

A few differences that I noted were a different reflector set up around the license plate, the smaller turn signals appear to be installed and there are no reflectors on the front fork. Anyone see any other differences?

After drooling over the Japan/Australia models that came out in 2010, this pic gave me hope that someday I'd be able to own one myself.

Chrome bar ends, polished brake and clutch reservoir caps, clutch lever doesn't look right and decals on top of tank look different, different chain guard ( i like that chain guard better)

A buddy of mine in Colorado claims he saw that same bike in 2010 in Vail, Co.
He did not get a pic but said it had manufacturer plates and a crowd around it.

I remember that back story. Was drooling and chomping at the bit. When Moto Guzzi came out with the green Griso SE I went with that having waited long enough. oops. Smile

Think the handlebars are different? I can't decide.

I go to Cars and Coffee in Irvine whenever I'm in SoCal. Car and bike mfrs are always bringing cool stuff there to gauge enthusiast reactions. It's a remarkable gathering, every Saturday 7am.

The first time I saw the CB1100 in person was mid-2010 @ a dealer in Okinawa, Japan. Doesn't surprise me that Honda was doing some test marketing.
