I have a 2014 EX (DLX) in black, which has a beautiful glitter effect in sunlight.

So, the colour scheme is black/silver (or deep chrome); classy, but a little monochromatic.

Clearly a designer at Honda felt that it would be against the laws of nature for a Honda to leave the factory without a touch of red (or possibly white and/or blue)

Looking closely at the tank badge, I notice that the centre of the badge's otherwise black background is in fact a very deep, dark red.

Look at the tiny replica of the badge on the key, and it's exactly the same.

Pointless, barely noticeable, and I'm sure costly, but sooo nice as evidence of the attention to detail that has gone onto this bike.

Interesting to hear what they've done with other colour (color) schemes.

My 2011 Australian bike has a black tank with silver side covers and a silver engine. The tank is all black and has the same tank badge as Insolentsquid's it's lovely.

I had not looked closely at the key until you mentioned it.

When I still had my red tank on the bike I just thought that the emblem was black, then I got the dark blue tank and it stood out. I had to take a really close look at the red tank to see it.
