Reflash - Tommy's 11_imp - 08-24-2014
First I'd like to say how much I enjoy this forum and the information on it. I'd like to ask the guys that had the reflash done if they have had any problems after it was done? I am about thirty days from being out of warranty and seriously considering having this done. One of my close friends just had his concours 14 done by Guhl ( I think that's right ) and loves it. Mine is still in stock form with 1500 miles on it.

I am wanting to do this, but I'm waiting until someone can get their bike into the shop (in PA) to have it tuned on the dyno. As of right now the tuner is making "educated guesses" that seem to be working fairly well, but I would like to be sure all is right before I pull the trigger.
As from what I have read those that have had it done have been really pleased with the results, both in economy and power.

Thanks , I hadn't heard if anyone had a chance to go by and do the dyno run yet . I live in Arkansas so it would be hard to do .

No, no.....It was hard having someone else put 15 miles on to to get it home from the shop, let alone letting some hoooooligan from down under come and put 5,500 miles on it for a dyno tune.
But

Don't know where Don's shop is, but maybe I'll run over next June once school's out. I'm next door in Ohio and the wife (school teacher, hence "after school") has family in New Jersey near east PA. Might drop the bike off and continue on for a visit and pick it up when done.
Any concerns though? Run hotter with the spark advanced? Reduced spark plug life? Per Kevin Cameron, a small retard in spark [like, .5 degree to 1 degree] yields huge plug life increases with almost no power loss. Don't know how hard it is to find that sweet spot where power is good and plug is good too.
Anything anybody can report on would be good. Have only heard the "pros" so far but nobody has posted up any "cons" of doing this.

In addition, if Randy B had accepted your kind offer I would have proposed giving ferret some assistance by taking his bike to San Diego and back. Purely to get its fuel consumption back to normal.
