Rapid fire questions from a new guy! - anyonecandoanything_imp - 04-09-2015

1. What are some must have mods I should pick up?
2. Does anyone know about the 2014s with a center stand being compatible with the yoshimura full race exhaust?
3. Where can I find some black ohlunds and should I tough it out and get the best ones or is there a mid range solution?
4. Are there other seat manufacturers that aren't Corbin and have nice seats?
5. Does anyone have any experience with the ryugin fender eliminator?
6. Has anyone found a nice wrist lock solution for cruise control - I have the Honda heated grips installed.
7. Do you know how much I appreciate that you've read this far? Lots!
8. The cb500f mirrors are the mirrors of choice it seems from you guys, would I just get those from a dealer?
9. My plan is to black out most of the chrome except the front fork, should I do this by wrapping the parts or is there better black parts such as rear handles, passenger pegs, headlight brackets etc.
10. What's the piece called that lowers or smooths out the throttle spike when just turning it? And would it be possible to make it compatible with the Honda heated grips?
11. Has anyones experience with the power commander 5 made them recommend it to others? Given that I'm replacing the exhaust id like to throw the new map on there but it is expensive.
13. Did you notice I missed the 12?
14. Are there any fork stabilizers compatible with abs models?
15. I'm trying to find a sissy bar that I can easily remove, almost like a snap on or clamp on set up, I'd love some suggestions there!
16. Does anyone feel like the foot peg for the shifter and the brake are a bit small length wise? Maybe I'm just not use to them! Probably order some larger black ones Wink!
17. Those riding the US deluxe model, what do you get out of a tank on the highway-my first tank didn't seem to last long.
18. What are some other nooobie to the Cb world questions I should be asking?
19. Any shorty clutch lever suggestions?

A D D much?

Holy cow a poster of a motorcycle. Do you have ay idea what this looks like on my ipad? Your questions looked like ant tracks on snow.

I did like #s 7 and 13

Hello Welcome to the forum.

I can answer a couple..

#14 The Superbrace (a forum sponsor) fork brace will fit with ABS
# 8 Get CB 550F mirrors at the Honda dealer or from an online Honda parts seller
#17 I can go about 220 miles and get gas in my dlx, I don't want to push it

I'll let others handle the rest

G'day and welcome. I can't help at all with most of your questions as I'm not really a modder, but can tell you that the forum's search function can be your friend. Many members have done all or some of these mods. There's lots of PCV installations and heaps of discussion about the merits of simply having the ECU reflashed. In relation to #6, there's a post today about the Kaoke cruise control.

Good luck. We'll all look forward to seeing photos as the project comes along.

Love the blue, I say if it ain't broke, don't fix it! All I plan to do is add an arrow SLIP-ON EXHAUST and I did have the seat re-worked by Baldwin motorbikes, where do I send the Ecu to be re - flashed?
Wonder if I can use TuneEcu like I did for my Triumph Scrambler

Fender eliminator : http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=5005&highlight=fender+eliminator

Samurider, a forum sponsor, has 2 fork braces, Plot and Agras. Superbrace is less expensive, not cheaply made, less expensive, and
I think they have a black one too.

Plenty of seat threads with lots of pics. Narrow down what you want and somebody most likely has it!

#10 is your wrist Wink Really, just ride a little while and you will get used to it. Ok, there is a cammed throttle grip advertised in bike mags, but I don't know if anyone on here
has installed one, and in your case with heated grips, will not be a loads of fun install.

AND, The number one mod to positively make is RLETS! Smile

Edit: Agras, not Acras

I just wanna know how you got to post such a big picture. I can never post pictures. It tells me my pictures are too big!

RE: Rapid fire questions from a new guy! - rboe - 04-18-2015

Photo's have two sizes to "worry" about. Forums are usually worried more about file size. How big of a pie you are trying to sell. The second, how many pixels per side (e.g. 1024x768). Here we have a photo that does not exceed the file size limit but exceeds the useful pixel size by causing us to scroll back and forth to see the picture.
