Rear turn signals/markers? - Ghis_imp - 08-28-2015

Our front turn signals are always lit up as markers. Anyone tried to get the rear ones to do the same? Is there an easy trick?

There are electronic units that will keep the rear signals lit up for markers and still flash them for turns. I had one on my previous NT700V. Can't remember the brand though. I put red bulbs in the rear turn signals when I did this since the housing had clear plastic lenses.

Google "running/turn/brake signal conversion." There are lots of products out there. You will probably have to do some cutting and splicing though.

I don't think there is an easy way to just hack the bike to do the same thing.

Check your local laws first.
Here in CA (where we get away with just about anything and everything) I was told by a very nice CHP officer (who didn't write me up) that I could not run amber lamps on in the rear.

You can do it but need to change the amber lens to a red lens.

One can get clear lenses for the CB turn signals. Then by changing the bulbs you can change the colors.

DOT regs and most state laws prohibit solid amber lights on the rear of a vehicle (only flashing amber for turn signals). Changing the color to red would do the trick.
