How would the aircooled CB1100 fare in the heat of Middle East? - nandiraju_imp - 03-24-2016

Hi,

I am looking at the CB1100 available at the local dealer. However, one of the points that is really bothering me is the heat in the middle east. Secondly, my rides are long (around 100 KM or more) at one time. For such long distances and high temperatures during day, would the CB1100 fare well or should we go in for CB1300 which has a decent cooling.

There are some forum members in the American Southwest where summertime temperatures are probably similar to your area and they have had no problems.

No problem. I ran an aircooled (no oil cooling apart from recirculating to the tank) bike in Bahrain for a number of years. All OK.

Cheers

don't you worry nandiraju- i've ridden several different '70's model honda's in 100+ degree temps here in the southwest. well over 100k per stop. no problem. 21st century model Honda? what, me worry?

as long as you're movin'! dunno what kind of traffic jams you have in Dubai?

It's every bit as hot here in Arizona as it is in your area. No problem at all.

Seriously heavy traffic, and jams, if you want to ride in the peak. And seriously dangerous hypersonic SUVs to cope with, where might is right.

nandiraju,

I've been riding air cooled bikes (including the CB1100) in the desert for most of my life. In the summer temperatures regularly exceed 44C. No problems at all. As long as you're moving, the bike will cool itself.
