WSBK at "The Cathedral". ****SPOILER ALERT**** - Pterodactyl_imp - 04-13-2016

This weekend the WSBK circus moves to Assen. Assen just happens to be a favourite with me. In the mid, and naughty, nineties, at Assen, I saw Mick Doohan take out the 500cc and Biaggi the 250cc. The atmosphere was sensational. Sorta "laid back" as well. Oh to be there this weekend! But no use dwelling on the past. Nice thing about events in Europe is that if I stay up and watch it is not to far past my geriatric type bedtime.

Maybe VDM will pull out all the stops to perform in front of the Orange Army. Hope it's a good race.

Cheers

A good race. Top five places hotly contested until Sykes put it down with 12 laps to go leaving Davies, Rea, VDM and Hayden fighting it out. VDM in and out of second place duelling with Rea, with Hayden sticking with them but not able to put the pass on. 4 laps to go VDM into second behind Rea who had just despatched Davies. VDM briefly into the lead then binned it with 2 to go. Rea took an easy win over Davies and then came Hayden, who had lost ground avoiding VDM on his way to the grass, to take the third podium. Rea celebrated with a big "stoppie" in front of the crowd while the Orange Army gave their applause to VDM who really did look like a possible winner until he put it down. He gets another chance tomorrow.

After the race Rea made a rather indiscreet comment in front of the cameras that might leave one to believe there could be lack of love in the Kawasaki shed. Might spice things up tomorrow.

Cheers
