FZ-10 tested on The Dragon - Ulvetanna_imp - 07-25-2016

[url=https://ultimatemotorcycling.com/2016/07/21/2017-yamaha-fz10-14-fast-facts/]Arthur Coldwells gives a great rundown on the new FZ-10.

This thing looks like the perfect old guy bike.

Heck of a bike.

On a side note, at last years CB1100 rally some of us ate dinner at the restauant with the gas pumps in the pictures included with that article on RT 129 by the Harrison Ford "Fugitive" dam. Good place to eat.

That is just a little out of my way but sounds like a good stop for those a bit closer.

I like all the ##'s but they need to offer a fared version to cover up all that plumbing and exhaust. I did not see a HP rating either. I would expect around 155-160 with 140 ATRW.

I think the peak power is a little lower, but the torque is identical. The redline is dropped by over 2,000 RPM. Torque peaks lower and apparently there is more off the bottom. This should be a very fun motorcycle.

You had me at "old guy bike."

A fabulous machine in every way but so hideous looking. Should be a top seller with performance like that and decent ergos. Just wish it looked more like the bike it replaced.

That restaurant with the old gas pumps was a nice spot for an evening meal. I remember we all sat outside with a view of the river. Right at the foot of the Dragon on the NC end.

RE: FZ-10 tested on The Dragon - the Ferret - 07-26-2016

Cormanus you and Ptero ate there after we all left didn't you?

RE: FZ-10 tested on The Dragon - Cormanus - 07-26-2016

Actually, Ferret, I don't think we did. We had lunch at the River's End Restaurant at Nantahala (which EmptySea said later was right next to an excellent craft beer outlet). That was [url=https://www.google.com.au/maps/place/River's+End+Restaurant/@35.3312334,-83.594616,17z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x885ecb354d7f2465:0xed5deeb91b50aa0c!8m2!3d35.331229!4d-83.592422?hl=en]here. It looks like your dinner happened at the Slickrock Grill which is [url=https://www.google.com.au/maps/place/Tapoco+River+Grill/@35.4444766,-83.9396487,17.94z/data=!4m12!1m6!3m5!1s0x885e956461586ed3:0xac5a525790f755d8!2sTapoco+River+Grill!8m2!3d35.443675!4d-83.938372!3m4!1s0x885e956461586ed3:0xac5a525790f755d8!8m2!3d35.443675!4d-83.938372?hl=en]here nearer the Deal's Gap end of the Dragon and just near the Cheoah Dam of Fugitive fame.

An agreeable ride from one to the other—see [url=https://www.google.com.au/maps/dir/Tapoco+River+Grill,+14981+Tapoco+Rd,+Robbinsville,+NC+28771,+United+States/River's+End+Restaurant,+Nantahala,+NC,+USA/@35.3463457,-83.8855091,11z/data=!4m13!4m12!1m5!1m1!1s0x885e956461586ed3:0xac5a525790f755d8!2m2!1d-83.938372!2d35.443675!1m5!1m1!1s0x885ecb354d7f2465:0xed5deeb91b50aa0c!2m2!1d-83.592422!2d35.331229?hl=en]here.
