Of course you would need quite that much gear for 1 night on the road, only 1 change of clothes and socks instead of 3. All my clothes are sink washable and dry over night hanging. Also depends of season and expected weather.

200 miles? As in one tank of gas? Honestly, all I'd bring is a spare key, a credit card, and maybe a tire repair kit if I'm riding someplace remote. If you're staying overnight, then of course you'll need some personal articles too. Enjoy!

this...

Heck my twice a week commute to school is 97 miles r/t

In any case.. Maybe bring a sweatshirt or liner for the evening ride home..

The ferret's list is good but I also take a couple of small zip ties and ether a swiss army knife or a leatherman tool plus a
small super glue, they fit in my first aid kit - easy to find in a hurry when something bad happens.

RE: Trip gear - 4 Paws_imp - 08-28-2016

Usually my cell phone, bottle of water, snack, and a book.
Sometimes a fishing rod.
Seasons other than summer a rainsuit also.

200 miles is a jaunt. Tire repair kit and rain gear if called for, camera and the credit cards. If over night, then the usual change of clothes.

I know a guy that comes to our rally's in AZ and NM from the Seattle area and he packs everything, loosely, in a medium dry bag. I pack more on a day trip than he does for two weeks and 2000+ miles. He's also 81 years old now.
