Traded HP for Watts - CIP57_imp - 09-29-2016

I'm down to 1 street bike ( GS1100EZ) which is in dry storage. My XX left last week for FL and my N1K was picked up last evening headed to Cave Creek AZ. Robe, maybe you'll see it near the twin restaurants up there. The new owner is Dave Lindgren who owns First Class Auto Body in Scottsdale. Nice guy who is also a pilot.

Since buying my Stromer ST1S (e-bike) in late June I have not ridden my motorcycles. What started out as a novelty has turned out to be a passion to pedal. I've gone from riding to training. I average 120 miles a week and the training shows. I have recently bought a SPECIALIZED ROUBAIX EXPERT UDI2 and plan my first century ride Oct 16th. I train every other day (30-40 MI) switching bikes. My weekend ride has increased to 65 miles with Elev. Gain of 4800ft. With my Stromer I average 19-20 MPH (Like riding a Motorcycle) my Specialized is 16MPH.

I ride motorcycles to fast and my ability to react has slowed down the last few years. I've been lucky, pedaling came at the right time for physical well being.

Get out of here. You're kidding. Wow.

Never saw that coming. You'll be back lol

Stay safe on those skinny wheels. Friend of mine's daughter just had a car pull out in front of her in Colorado Springs (she's a racer and trains there) and basically ended up like CB4ME

Does ATTATT include spandex and a half helmet? Lol

Hang around CIP we kinda like ya here

Good,on you CIP. Ride well and keep dropping in.

Yep, helmet, spandex shorts, jersey, glasses and gloves. Just bought my winter gear from Gore, windproof bibtights, jacket, gloves and thermo overshoes. Man this gets expensive Smile

And yes, its dangerous riding, I have mirrors on both bikes and always viewing the rear. I ride and follow all the rules of driving. Bright colors, front and rear lights on both bikes.

People are dropping like flies on this forum. Hope we can keep the numbers strong for a while longer.

I pass a lot of bicyclists on the way to Cave Creek as Cave Creek road is popular with them. I don't go to Twin Peaks restaurants but I'll keep an eye out. I don't know the name, perhaps the face if he stops in the Grotto.

Wife and I got our bicycles ready last spring, but it quickly became too hot to ride. We hope to get them back out again this winter. Very good for the cardio without the impact running has on the joints. Gonna post some pics of your new ride? Big Grin

Here is a pic I posted on the forum in June. Stromer is a Swiss company recently bought out by BMG. This bike is a rear hub 500 watt Pedelec ( 500 watts= app. 3/4 HP) which can reach 28mph on the flats, however its sweet spot is 25mph with a cadence (pedal rpm's) of about 70rpm's. Pedelec is a bike which requires pedaling without a throttle.

There are four modes of power, ECO, CITY, TOUR & POWER. ECO will net you the most distance out of its 522Wh battery. This mode will power the 62lb bike similar to a conventional bike only leveling out the climbs a bit more. Average distance is about 50-60 miles. Power mode will give you the ability to climb like a professional.

In Europe all e-bikes are restricted to 15mph, law in Europe requires ins. reg. and motor vehicle license above that speed.

E-bikes have been in Europe for years and just breaking into the US market. California recently passed laws which classify these as bikes under the speed of 28mph which was adopted by other states.

So do you have to charge it up after each ride? How long does it take and how many charhe cycles is the batt good for.

And when you buying another motorcycle? You can't be done, or are you going to activate the GS and ride it?
