2017 EX Stock Muffler Internals Exposed - CB750K1_imp - 03-24-2017 Check out this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=PCMNT1VlszM At around 11:40 it shows a cut away view of the 2017 muffler compared to the earlier model. If you pause the video, you can clearly see how easy it would be to get a little more throaty sound. Its a straight shot from the rear of the muffler to the baffle about 6 to 10 inches inside. Just put a long drill bit straight in and drill bigger holes. You could slowly increase the size of the holes until you get the sound you want. You can also see that the older model would be impossible to modify that simply if at all. Wish I knew what that guy in the video is saying! I'm guessing the top one is the 2017 because its shorter. KC RE: 2017 EX Stock Muffler Internals Exposed - LongRanger_imp - 03-24-2017 I didn't understand a word he was saying either, although I would love to spend a day riding with him. We'd be unable to converse, but we'd certainly be able to communicate. It'd be a riot. RE: 2017 EX Stock Muffler Internals Exposed - Retsel_imp - 03-24-2017 I worked for a Japanese company, Fujitsu, for about 15 years. Spent a lot of time in Japan. Loved the people and the place. You would have no problem communicating, especially with a common interest. RLETS, Baby face Sliders, Staintune Slip-on, CB500 Mirrors, smaller led taillight, OEM rear rack, Guhl reflash, handlebar risers, Kawasaki Gaiters. Looks like some of the flow comes directly out, while another portion is routed through a second chamber and then comes back out through a perforated pipe, mixing back into the main flow. The new muffler does seems to sound different (deeper tone) but what I really like about it is that: 1. it's four into two 2. it's a lot smaller (shorter/narrower) as a result (2 vs one no doubt) |
