Shipping/transporting a CB1100 - Rolls_imp - 05-15-2017 Has anyone used a motorcycle transport or shipping service to move a motorcycle within the U.S.? Recommendations of movers to use or avoid? Looking at planning some trips and it would be nice to have my CB with me, but I don't have time to ride across the country. Also, I always wonder about this when I daydream of buying a bike from another state. Thanks! RE: Shipping/transporting a CB1100 - Cormanus - 05-15-2017 Start here, Rolls, http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=5862 You could also PM warman who has just had his bike transported to him. RE: Shipping/transporting a CB1100 - Capo - 05-15-2017 Haul Bikes.com has never let me down, and I've used them to transport bikes I've bought and sold all over the country. Off season, they go anywhere in the US for $499, but a common charge is around $600- $650. You must plan way ahead though. RE: Shipping/transporting a CB1100 - LongRanger_imp - 05-15-2017 Haul Bikes +100 RE: Shipping/transporting a CB1100 - Bighonda14_imp - 05-15-2017 I used Haul Bikes last summer to purchase my DLX. They brought it from Colorado to NJ and did an outstanding job! Would use them again in a heartbeat and look no further. RE: Shipping/transporting a CB1100 - Rolls_imp - 05-15-2017 Thanks, all! Thanks, Cormanus for the other thread, too. (I of course tried searching first, but as it turns out "shipping" is an all kinds of posts in different contexts. )Great info. RE: Shipping/transporting a CB1100 - Dvassino_imp - 05-15-2017 I used Federal transporters to ship my bike from MN to NY and it cost $500 right to my home in Long Island. They were great. Dino RE: Shipping/transporting a CB1100 - bigsheep_imp - 05-15-2017 I used Uship to ship my bike from Montreal to Hamilton. The US has a version of Uship. I picked a buyer that had experience with motorcycles and a high reliability. It came in a few days and cost around $200. He had a few other bikes in his truck. RE: Shipping/transporting a CB1100 - ClassicVW_imp - 05-15-2017 Haul Bikes, Keyboard Motorcycle Shippers and U-Ship have all been good for me. With U-Ship, study the person, his equipment, and his feedback. A friend had a horrible U-Ship experience in shipping a bike that I sold to him. The shipper did $6K in damage to the bike. You can get a good, conscientious person and you can get a redneck with a broken down truck who calls himself a motorcycle shipper. (apologies to rednecks) RE: Shipping/transporting a CB1100 - warman_imp - 05-16-2017 I used Haul Bikes just recently. I thought $600 for 1300 miles was fair. Lady on the phone could have been friendlier but the driver was helpful and phoned me the day before and thirty minutes before delivery. They will warn you repeatedly about the size of their trucks and the kinds of neighborhoods they can't go into. I'd use them again if I ever need to. |
