HyperPro progressively wound springs - anyone? - ohiorider_imp - 07-23-2017
Just curious ..... has anyone installed a set of their progressively wound springs on their CB1100? I've been considering the Traxxion Dynamics kit for my front forks. but might like to take the easier approach by installing a new set of springs, instead of separating the sliders and fork tubes. It 'almost' looks like one could install new springs without removing the forks, maybe even leaving the handlebars in place.

You don't actually have to separate the fork tubes from the lowers with the Traxxion kit, though you do have to pull the forks to get the old oil out. Taking the forks off is maybe a fifteen minute job if you can stand the heat in your garage right now. The Traxxion kit is worth it because it remedies both the weak spring and shoddy damping at one go.

I thought the fork sliders and tubes had to be separated to install the new damper rods. I have installed Ricor emulators on a T100 Triumph, but these didn't require any work to the damper rods. The Traxxion kit supplies new damper rods that have to be installed. Maybe I'm missing something. Can you provide more info? Thanks.

The damper rods are held in by one allen bolt accessible through the bottom of the fork sliders. Unscrew it and everything can just be slid out the top once the top cap is taken off.

I have hyperpro springs in my 13. Just open the caps and remove old and replace. I mityvacced the old fluid and replaced with theirs.
The too soft front was the only issuse I had with the bike. This fixed it and remains compliant. Good luck.
