Since I got passed the running service I've been getting more acquainted/familiar with my CB11RS.
So far my rides since the running in service have been short ones but its given me some useful indicators as to how it handles.
The Rear suspension units whilst good are probably a little under damped on rebound when loaded heavily so if hitting hard compression's they can pogo a little if provoked as they struggle to control the springs as they recoil. Front suspension hasnt shown any similar traits, though I discovered that it does need muscling to get in "scratching" and will try to stand up a little if trail braking when scrubbing off speed. Spring rates seem well matched front and rear and to the bike as a retro cafe racer , though it cruising was more your intent they may feel overly firm.
These are more observations, than criticisms and I think Honda did a good job dragging 70s/80s chassis architecture into the noughties and making it better than the hinged in the middle bikes of yesteryear. Brakes are perfectly matched, I think the engine still feels a little tight and will hopefully loosen up as the miles get added (im still under 1kmiles) .
Front brakes are meaty/powerful and easily modulated with lever pressure.
Overall i'm impressed though would say if anyone was thinking of retro fitting RS suspension bits to a EX or other CB11 I'd say the dual bending forks are a worth a thought (if your flush) but I'd look aftermarket rather than use the RS rear Showas shocks. Note there are some nice piggy back shocks available from Nitron UK. something for the wish list

I think your observations are fair. Factory suspensions work for some and not so well for others.
A lot depends on your weight and style of riding.
So far, the suspension works well enough for me and I don't anticipate any changes.

Compared to my most recent modern bike which had full comp and rebound preload adjustment front and rear the CB11RS sussies work well for the roads I ride. These roads are anything but flat and are mostly unpleasant on any modern sports bike given the bumps and dips tend to cause full compression to bump stops with the usually kick up the Coccyx that follows. If I'd had access to smoother roads I doubt I'd have noticed the softer rebound damping on the rear shocks.
