Important Announcement: Upcoming Forum Upgrade and Migration to XenForo - rdprdp01 - 09-10-2026 As part of our ongoing commitment to improving site performance, device compatibility, and, most importantly, the security of your personal data, cb1100forum.net will upgrade to a modern platform (XenForo) on September 18th. We expect the migration to be completed in less than five days. During the migration, the CB1100 Community Forum will be offline. Our current software is aging, and a modern architecture is urgently needed to protect against modern automated threats and secure user data. This migration will deliver significant improvements, including a faster interface, seamless mobile support, better media and graphics handling, and tighter overall security. You will also be able to push data to other social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. Help Us Help You
Many Thanks to Cormanus As I am inclined to do, I leaned heavily on Cormanus to help me set up and refine the next-generation Forum. Everything that works well, you can credit to our favorite Aussie. The problems and issues are mine alone. Here are a few screenshots of Cormanus' vision for how we can move forward. Cormanus will share more when he finds some time. At the moment, I believe the handsome devil is sailing with his lovely wife. Thank You and Show Some Love to pdedse We appreciate your patience, support, and confidence as we take this necessary step to secure our community’s future. I recognize that the CB1100 riders are aging and that no more big, air-cooled inline fours are being made. All that aside, we have seen healthy growth in users, threats, and posts. As long as there is interest, we will keep going. Many thanks to pdedse, too. He remains everyone’s favorite brother, guiding us by moderating posts, creating interesting threads, and inspiring us to follow his example to find time to ride one of the greatest motorcycles ever made. Take care, David New Forum ![]() Help ![]() Forum Growth

RE: Important Announcement: Upcoming Forum Upgrade and Migration to XenForo - Cormanus - 09-10-2026 Cormanus, sadly, is not sailing. He managed in an act of monumental stupidity to damage the ancient alternator on his boat and it is away being repaired. He is also committed to family activities over this weekend and has other reasons, including the forum upgrade to be land based until at least September 19. With encouragement, I've taken the opportunity to try to simplify the forum when we transfer. There will be less categories and less forums. If all goes well, all the threads and posts in this layout will transfer to a place on the new look forum. The native search engine is good and we hope it will be easy to find things. You can see from the image rdprdp01 has posted above (and one below) that there are what looks like menus across the top of the page. They are, and the ones with little down arrows to their right provide links to the areas displayed if you click on the tab. If it helps, I've written a brief guide to the new-look forum which appears below. Questions or comments are welcome. I'll respond when I can. A Guide to the CB1100 Forum The CB1100 Community Forum has moved to new hosting software called XenForo. It operates slightly differently and has a slightly different look and feel. Navigation At the top of the home page are tabs or menus pointing to various areas of the forum. These tabs and their associated sub menus are available from anywhere in the forum. Forums The Forums page is divided into Categories, each containing forums. There is some guidance on the purpose in a statement under the Category and Forum headings. It’s hoped they’re largely self-explanatory. Marketplace The Marketplace is where members can post if they have items for sale or are searching for an item. The area is available only for items for personal sale or purchase. The CB1100 Forum does not allow business advertising or sale. Threads about items that have been bought or sold or where there has been no activity for 90 days will be moved to an Archive. Media The Media area is aimed at display of media — particularly photographs, videos and galleries — and is not structured for discussion. Media can be photographs, videos, music, etc. It can be uploaded or linked to. However, the ability to link to items is limited to the following sites:
All other media must be uploaded to the forum. This section of the forum is useful for building an album of photographs or videos. Individual items or albums can easily be displayed in posts in the discussion forums, but it's not necessary first to upload them to the Media area as photos and video can be linked or uploaded directly to normal discussion threads. Resources The Resources area of the forum will be populated by moderators and administrators. It is designed to host links to resources outside the forum that may be of interest to members. Only resources that have an established reputation will be added. Examples of resources are:
Contains information about members of the forum. Help Contains information on various aspects of the forum:
A user will see their username and any avatar they’ve set. Click on it to view and edit their preferences and profile. This is also where to go to log out of the forum. Direct Messages Send, receive, and manage direct messages with other forum members. Alerts Users can set actions within the forum that they’d like to be alerted about. Where there is an alert or alerts a number will show above the bell. The menu lists the alerts as well as providing quick links to alert preferences and other actions. Search A simple search menu is presented with an option to move to an advanced search feature enabling a sharper focus.
