Travel Accessory: Helmet Bag (FAA Approved) - rdprdp01 - 08-24-2026

Because all my gear was lost to the fire, I have begun acquiring new stuff along with a fervent commitment to work less and ride more.

I ran across this FAA-Approved Helmet Bag on Amazon:

You are allowed to carry it on Board on a flight as carry-on luggage. The bag has a beautiful felt lining that will not scratch your helmet or face shield. It also has side pockets for gloves, ear plugs, and other riding essentials. It has double stitching, a convenient handle, and is well made. It can collapse down to a nice flat rectangle for storing at home:

I look forward to using my fancy bag to fly to an interesting destination, rent a motorcycle, and experience a great adventure. Have a great week. David

The Portland area is kinda interesting...and I know a guy who knows a guy with a red bike, and a couple of adv bikes.  I'll bet a some sort of adventure could be scrounged up.

Nice bag! I have one very similar that I did use, in fact on a trip to Portland to deliver a bike. It protected my helmet for the flight home.

Unfortunately at the time, I didn't know anyone well enough in the area with a red bike and a couple of adventure bikes.

Portland is kinda interesting. On that trip to deliver the bike, when I parked it, a lady came out of a bush and called me a "Pretty bowling ball."

He is on the list to see in 2027! David
