Outage Report: SQL Database Disconnect - rdprdp01 - 07-08-2025
At approximately 12:50 PST, received an automated alert notifying me that the cb1100forum.net site was offline.
Logged into the backend and did not detect any anomalies.
Ran diagnostic tests and determined that the hosting provider was online. No issues there
Reviewed MyBB Documentation and Administrator Posts and learned that a default value which does not explicitly identify the IP Address of the database can cause periodic disconnects. Logged into the backend of the cb1100forum.net site, modified the config.php file to make a hard reference, and the Forum was restored. Outage lasted approximately 20 minutes.
I will do more research and see if there are other "default" values that need to migrate from "generic" to "explict."
Pardon me if I interrupted a lunch date you had with CB1100Forum.net. Please keep posting and sharing your experiences. Great stuff.
