Waterproof Overpants? - riggies_imp - 07-23-2018 I ride in “water resistant” riding jeans and on my recent trip to Virginia I was caught in what can only be described as a deluge myth sent by the gods. I don’t want to wear Moto pants because I love these jeans so I’m considering some overpants to throw into my Kreig and put on when weather looks frightening. Any recommendations? The last pair I had about ten years ago were such junk I threw them out during a trip, but there seems to be some quality stuff out there. RE: Waterproof Overpants? - emptysea - 07-23-2018 Rev'it has a two-piece rain suit, but I think you can just buy the pants. I like them, the have kept me dry on many rides, they slip on pretty easy, and they compress into a pretty tiny little carry bag. i wear them as a wind layer in cooler weather, also. The only problem I have them is that the Velcro at the ankle sometimes comes undone and the cuffs flap around. I solved that with a short bungee cord at just above ankle level. I also think they may have redesigned the closure on newer pants (mine are at least 3 years old. RE: Waterproof Overpants? - Cormanus - 07-23-2018 I may be a voice in the wilderness, but don't waste your money on Frogg Toggs. Mine were like wearing a sponge. I have a pair of Dririder waterproof pants—not the ones [url=http://dririder.com.au/search?criteria=rainwear&quickSearchSubmit=search]here but similar. They're fine, but nothing really completely resists solid, sustained rain. I hope I'm not in for a surprise if and when the time comes to use them
RE: Waterproof Overpants? - the Ferret - 07-24-2018 Like seats, windshields and oil, different riders have different experiences and satisfaction levels. I've worn my Frogg Toggs in the rain many times over the years and have been happy with their performance. RE: Waterproof Overpants? - Houtman_imp - 07-24-2018 I have Held rain pants I bought direct from Germany , I think called cloud burst (not home at this time ) They are really nice with zippers going all the way to your waste , easy to put on over your boots and totally water proof. Do you have a link to these? I've been looking for some with zippers that go all the way up but haven't been able to find any. When I googled Held rain pants....the zippers went to the knee. Recently, If I'm going to ride all day....I just put these on and leave them on [url=https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MTNME20/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1]https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MTN...UTF8&psc=1 since it is such a pain for old fat people to find a place to put on rain pants over boots. :-) Not ideal, but if on the road, I can't get wet if I'm going to ride the next day....my joe rocket jeans won't dry out by in the morning. I've been through some pretty heavy rains and stayed dry. RE: Waterproof Overpants? - Houtman_imp - 07-24-2018 Google Held Cloud Burst rain pants and they will come up , including German sellers :about $75-$ 85. Order them big enough to go over your riding pants. Google Held Cloud Burst rain pants and they will come up , including German sellers :about $75-$ 85. RE: Waterproof Overpants? - Houtman_imp - 07-25-2018 Offroad , I just checked the size I bought , it is 3 XL and I wear it over Draggin jeans with hip protectors and EVS knee/shin strap on protectors. I feel that rain over pants have to be " roomy" enough to fit well and are easy to put on quickly. |
