My New Venture- BMG - Capo - 12-11-2019 Hi, all. Long time no speak. I've still hung around, and while I miss my CB, and still consider this forum to be the best of all, I'm still waist deep in bikes. I wanted to announce something meaningful, and hope it doesn't violate any forum protocols. I have completed the purchase of BMG - British Motorcycle Gear, a company responsible for outfitting a good number of motorcycle enthusiasts for over 30 years. BMG will be a ’side gig’ for the time being, as my wife and I still work full time, and we need to learn how to run a family business. I'm eager to cater to the motorcycle community that I’ve been part of for 50 years, starting on a Yamaha Mini- Enduro in the woods of New Jersey, where I discovered the passion that endures, and the people who make it special. We’ll focus on the online business for now, reimagining the website and social a bit, then emerge in 2020 to hit some shows and establish a handful of retail partnerships. Our own BMG line of products was born from the original Belstaff technical riding gear line. It’s great stuff, well made, feature laden, and keenly priced. And it is available only on our site for now. We also carry Belstaff, Davida helmets, Halcyon goggles, some Barbour products, and a smattering of other gear and accessories. We will always offer a modest, curated selection of quality products. So, I’d greatly appreciate if my forum friends would head over to the British Motorcycle Gear FB page, follow, like, share, participate in the conversations, and check out our website. Feel free to pick out some nice riding gear! And I’m open to ideas, opinions, comments, partnerships, and opportunities with you all, so hit me up here or via my biz email, andrew@britishmotorcyclegear.com Over time, I’ll also be applying some of my media and writing experience on the site and elsewhere. Isle of Man stuff, podcast, blog, coverage of moto- events and news. This move comes with some trepidation. I certainly don’t want to screw up my hobby! I’ve never been an entrepreneur. I suppose I'm a late bloomer. Cynthia and I hope to infuse the biz with some new energy and ideas, keep it small, and let it form around the travels, experiences, and most of all, people, who come with being contributors to the motorcycle community, the best group of humans on earth. If you want to purchase anything, use the code BMGSHOW for 10% off and free shipping, and if you put a note in the order or message me that you're a CB1100 forum member, I'll kick you back some more. I'll have a dedicated code for y'all soon. http://www.britishmotorcyclegear.com Many thanks, all! RE: My New Venture- BMG - the Ferret - 12-11-2019 Very cool Capo. Best of luck with your venture. RE: My New Venture- BMG - Houtman_imp - 12-11-2019 I wish you and your wife good luck in starting your new business ! You always regret the things in life you didn't do , more so than the things you did do. RE: My New Venture- BMG - peterbaron - 12-11-2019 Good luck Capo RE: My New Venture- BMG - KiowaEagle_imp - 12-11-2019 Nice Capo! Good luck with it! RE: My New Venture- BMG - GoldOxide_imp - 12-11-2019 Congrats on the new venture Capo. I am a big fan of Triumph outerwear, which includes a Barbour International 3/4 length waxed cotton which I wear everyday in the winter (currently -12C as I write this). Keep the passion alive. RE: My New Venture- BMG - Frulk_imp - 12-11-2019 Timely. I’m a fan of waxed jackets and a waxed bomber is my choice to wear when I’m on the Guzzi. While in Ireland last year I had planned to try and find a shop that sells waxed motorcycle jackets. My wife, who scripted the entire two weeks down to literally the hours didn’t give me the window of opportunity to shop for one. Anyway, was watching an episode of ‘The Crown’ tonight and remarked to the spouse that the guy dating Princess Margaret had a killer waxed jacket on. Appears he was a rider. Will have to check that website out. Sounds like it’s aligned with some of my styling choices. |
