Honda Jacket - Bheezy27403_imp - 01-11-2020 https://www.cyclegear.com/gear/sedici-honda-supersport-textile-jacket Anybody own this? I thought I saw one on here before. RE: Honda Jacket - emptysea - 01-11-2020 I had a Joe Rocket Honda-branded jacket that looked a little like this. So did physics-teacher. RE: Honda Jacket - Gone in 60 - 01-11-2020 I just looked at that jacket at a Cycle Gear store. The Honda logo caught my eye but it had a lot of other patches and stuff on it that sort of turned me off. But that’s just me. The quality of it looked fine. I have a Joe Rocket jacket ( not the Honda Version ). I liked the jacket, the price, features, armor, and fit was right, but it had "Joe Rocket" embroidered patches plastered all over it. When I say plastered, I mean it had them across the chest, forearms, shoulders, and two on the back. It would have been fine if it had a few Honda patches as this Sedici jacket does, but my philosophy is that if the gear manufacturer isnt paying me to advertise the brand, more often that not I am going to remove any branding I dont like. My Joe Rocket is now plain black with NO branding at all. The patches sewn onto these jackets are almost always top stitched on. This means that by simply cutting the stitching that attaches the patch to the jacket, the patches can be removed without any damage to the jacket. I sat down with my jacket, while my better half and I were watching TV one night, and in about 45 minutes had all the patches removed. Coulda done it faster but I was being very careful. The Sedici is a nice looking jacket at what looks like a good price, so the patches other than Honda could be removed rather easily, and there are A LOT fewer offending patches on it than my jacket had.. This is easy to do DYI, but it could be done by any alterations shop for peanuts as well. Just putting it out there for anyone that likes the look of this or any other jacket, but that does not like all the branding. RE: Honda Jacket - Bheezy27403_imp - 01-11-2020 The one on clearance is the red one. I have never owned any Sedici gear so I'm wondering about their quality. The price is right for sure. My Triumph mesh jacket is a little long in the tooth and has tasted the road on one occasion but it still is a quality product. As to the patches on the thing it really only looks like 2 are from the brand, the rest seem to be Honda patches (although there may be too many of those too). RE: Honda Jacket - Randy B - 01-11-2020 I have 2 of these. The first one I inherited from a friend that died and I was wearing when I was hit and run on the freeway (low speed, about 30 mph) and I managed to find another one to "replace" it with. Nice enough looker for around town, but all pads are just hard foam. Not a winter jacket but I'm in San Diego … so it works. Don't think I will use on x-country … mostly for around town. RE: Honda Jacket - Bheezy27403_imp - 01-12-2020 Thank you sir. Man I wish this one was for $100. That's a no-brainer deal. RE: Honda Jacket - Charlie Bravo_imp - 01-16-2020 I have a black/red Honda Racing mesh jacket made by Intersport that I bought for $40 in a used gear shop that I like for summers. Very well made. |
