Air Cleaner Cover Color - jdinaz_imp - 08-01-2018
The air cleaner cover (on both sides) of my 2014 Deluxe are light gray in color. Any picture I see of the Deluxe the covers are black. Does anyone else have light gray covers? Or know why mine are gray?

Mine are definitly black. I thought they were, but I walked out to the garage to make sure.

My 1976 CB750F side covers were a dark gray...until I painted them black.
Black is faster...it absorbs energy!
Krylon Fusion rattle can works well on plastic.

I dont remember them being anything but black until they got the chrome strip in 2017

Mine are black too. You may be able to restore yours by applying a liquid "black renewal" product intended for restoring black plastic trim on cars.

Good idea LR. I've heard about guys doing that with the black plastic on the bags of their ST 1300s.

I've seen the pics of your bike on CL and it looks like someone definitely painted them gray. Did you buy yours used? If so, looks like the previous owner may have done that to make it "his own" (kinda like brown seats
).
