no joke - the Ferret - 06-07-2016

There used to be this joke about HD riders riding so slow they get passed by guys on bicycles. Maybe it applies to Kawasaki's too. My son sent me this video this morning. Pretty funny.

I do think the KTM rider could have kept the bicyclist at bay.

I'm a road cyclist and I saw this a while ago online ..its sparked a bit of online controversy as the lead MC eventually cuts the cyclist off (towards the end).
I don't if it was intentional .. he seems like a new rider and a bit unsure of himself on the turns.
or, maybe he just didn't like getting passed by a cyclist? LOL
it happens...

+1, looking at the cornering lines of the motorcyclist, a newbie.

So am I and I was pretty fast on the descents, because of my m/c road racing background. Bicycles can be way faster than m/c's on the descents if well-ridden but as you mentioned, the lead guy on the m/c was quite stupid and inexperienced.

However, the cyclist was also quite brash and full of hubris. Smart road cyclists don't compete with motor vehicles. They just don't.

Guy was probably trying to get a good Strava time, ya think?

I stay the heck away from anything like this nonsense. The racetrack is the place for speed and even there, at the track days I attend, we have workers in every turn monitoring rider behavior. You ride like an idiot, you get black-flagged and asked to leave.

I hate to say this as I am perfectly guilty of similar riding in the distant past, but it's a street-level mentality. Guys frightened of the racetrack will ride like nuts on the street. Cyclists and m/c's. Passing on blind turns over the double-yellow, and so on.

There is a lot of paperwork to be filled in if one is mixed up in some problem not to mention perhaps liability, the coroner, law enforcement.

I may write like an arrogant jerk at times but I promise you I do not ride like one; getting on with my fellow humans in the real world is of paramount importance. The virtual world, IDK... Undecided

Oh cmon Verdeken, you weren't that bad.... even if it felt like it, and by the end of the rally I'm pretty sure you could have crushed that guy on the bicycle... ROFL

RE: no joke - Rebel73_imp - 08-11-2016

Lol. Obviously a newb.

RE: no joke - Papa Weeley_imp - 08-11-2016

Holy crap!
I've gotten a lot slower the last few years, but I hope I never get that bad!
ROFL

RE: no joke - 4 Paws_imp - 08-21-2016

hats off to the guy on the bicycle, not only does he stay in his lane but he also rides it up hills too.
