MotoGP—Assen **SPOILER ALERT** - Cormanus - 06-30-2018

I'm not giving it away. If you didn't see it, stay away from the news and watch it. It's the race of the season. Maybe even the race of the past few seasons.

Wow! Just Wow!

Thanks to a little dehydration this morning caused by a bit too much gin last night, I was at the TV just in time to watch the whole race. I do not follow MotoGP to the extent others here do, but this was an amazing race from beginning to end.

Do not follow it ether but love watching when the resident enthusiast tip me off. was a cliff hanger with all the contact and i wondered who " might be cheering " when the Yamaha was in the lead but in the end that Honda just said goodbye to the crowd. great race - watched it on Youtube

"The power of the Ducati..." Man, I'm tired of hearing that phrase. It's not the power of the Ducati or any other bike which determines races. It's the ability of the rider to use the tool he's given. Dovizioso and Lorenzo are unbelievably talented riders. I'm not a believer in the mystical "power of the Ducati" any more than the "soul of a Harley." But, it sells motorcycles.

RE: MotoGP—Assen **SPOILER ALERT** - the Ferret - 07-01-2018

LOL well the MotoGP Ducati's do have the highest top speeds in the paddock (only by a few mph mind you) but they have terrific acceleration, evident on any long straightaway. The record holder is Dovi's Ducati I think at right at 220 MPH. Dani Pedrosas Honda held the record for a long time at 217 mph.

In recent years Ducati as claimed the top 5 fastest recorded speeds

Sure. But if "the power of the Ducati" is so noteworthy, as that annoying announcer proclaimed ad nauseum, then why aren't Ducati riders always on the podium? Because, it's the talents of the riders and their teams which are a much more important consideration. If Assen is any indication, announcers should be touting "the supremacy of the Spaniards" in Germany in two weeks. Smile
