Yamaha Factory Fill UOA - Ack-CB11_imp - 11-07-2019 Oil threads usually bring up a lot of controversy elsewhere. Should be fine here, no haters. ![]() Factory fills are often talked and argued about. Questioning whether it's break-in oil or such stuff. Must stay in for 1st 600 miles..... on and on. Here's a UOA "used oil analysis" from the Yamaha factory. [url=http://s303.photobucket.com/user/ACKCR500/media/20191108_080401_zpswz0adsni.jpg.html] ![]() Looks like Yamaha doesn't use anything special. It's close to a virgin sample of Yamalube 10w40 I saw. I hope this photobucket link is showing, click for clearer picture. I think? ACK RE: Yamaha Factory Fill UOA - Lord Popgun - 11-08-2019 Your posted pic shows and clicking on the picture does bring up a bigger, clearer picture. RE: Yamaha Factory Fill UOA - the Ferret - 11-08-2019 Just out of curiosity why would you have oil tested at 250 miles? 3,000 -4000 miles I could understand, but how sheared or polluted could oil be at 250 miles? Mainly personal demons......... And I wanted the base ingredients before it was to contaminated or sheared down. Just to find out if the factory puts in anything special for the break-in miles. Turns out not at the Niken plant. While the MT's FZ's and Tracers, all same CP3 motors, get full synthetic off the line and their manuals say use only full synth all weights. My manual says regular oil and no thinner than 10w40. Seems strange to me? I know, STOP thinking and just ride it. ACK |
