Kinda reminds of the original, early Saturn commercials. They remind you that you have a soul. In this case, no other bike can do this ... just HD. Smile

Hmm, seems I've experienced that, but I wasn't riding a Harley.

How could that be?

Wait, maybe it's not about the Harley.......

RE: Great new HD advertising - pdedse - 02-16-2020

I've experienced this on a Harley Sportster 1200...a Kawasaki KLR650...a Honda CGL125...a Yamaha xs650 that barely ran...on another one that ran much better...on a Triumph Street Twin, and on a Honda Tornado 250...but nope, I've never experienced this on my Honda CB1100. Hmmmm.

: )

Hahahahahahaaaaaahahahaaaaahahahahhhhaaaaaaaaaaaha.....haaaa

I love how in motorcycle ads, the bike is always the only thing on the road. Even in a big city. Wouldn’t be nearly so inspiring if it was at all realistic.

At first I thought it said "you're flying, but seven". In my case I did not throw a leg over a minibike until I was nine or ten. But I am often still reconnected with that experience of first riding a motorbike when I ride today. So while I say it should have been "you're flying, but nine", I still thought it was a good ad.

The classic ad selling the sizzle, not the steak.
Not so much meat in HD's steak any more.

RE: Great new HD advertising - Gone in 60 - 02-17-2020

I worked in advertising for years, so I consider myself quite jaded when it comes to selling the sizzle. I’ve even helped shut down streets for that perfect “only car on the road” image.

But, certain ads still resonate with me. I’m a big McQueen fan, and around the time I bought my Bonneville, Triumph featured an ad campaign with classic images of him riding Triumphs. I still get choked up when I see the 2005 Mustang “Build it and he will come” ad, where McQueen comes out of a cornfield to drive the new model against the music from Bullitt. The Honda “Impossible Dream” ads make me feel happy years later when I start up whatever Honda I’m riding or driving. I’ll never own an Omega watch, but I always gaze through the window of their store whenever they do a James Bond Edition promo poster or show an astronaut wearing one.

And I will absolutely lose it watching a Budweiser Clydesdale Super Bowl ad. Too bad the beer is dreck.

Ha! People (myself included) tend to think that motorcycling is all pastures and country roads . . .They neglect to think about rain, traffic jams or what exactly ATGATT feels like in 90F heat.

Lean in folks of the deep south ...

... even southern Ontario in summer will add profuse humidity to that 90F+ pleasurable experience (not!).

My helmet liners are clean and ready for this summer's humidity.
