When is a Grom? - Cormanus - 04-19-2024 So, thanks to m in sc, here’s a picture of that Distinguished Gentleman on a Honda Grom with a round headlight and a 250 cc 2-stroke motor. Neat. But is it still a Grom? When does a Grom* cease to be a Grom? When it gets a new tank? When it gets a new frame? When it gets a new engine? A combination of those things? Discuss. * or any motorcycle … RE: When is a Grom? - the Ferret - 04-19-2024 Um I think thats a Kawasaki 120, around 67? in which case its not a Grom RE: When is a Grom? - Cormanus - 04-19-2024 Ah, Ferret, you're right as usual. Instead of making a nonsense of this exchange I'll put the correct photo below. m in sc talks about his Grom [url=http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=19105&pid=348573#pid348573]here. The topic remains open for discussion. RE: When is a Grom? - misterprofessionality - 04-19-2024 I think he just transformed the grom into what it always should have been RE: When is a Grom? - peterbaron - 04-20-2024 This is very serious surgery RE: When is a Grom? - the Ferret - 04-20-2024 Lots and lots of Groms around here. After that, it would be about the new glory of the art. lol - if there was a distracting final shaft drive, that could get second or third in my attention. (I know, pretty sick) RE: When is a Grom? - Cormanus - 04-20-2024 (04-20-2024, 11:11 AM)m in sc_imp Wrote: .. this all being said.. when is an rd no longer an rd? or .. anything. look at ken blocks (rip) awd mustang. it wasnt a mustang, but sort of was. That was what I was getting at, m in sc: when do the mods on a bike (or anything really) mean it should no longer be called by its OEM name. I know it doesn’t matter, but it interests me. Au₂O₃ looks to the engine; others may judge by the tank or side covers. RE: When is a Grom? - alprider - 04-20-2024 no matter what bike, For me, the engine is fundamental, it must remain original (in its volume), and the frame Because both things can change the basic character far too much for me to still be able to recognize the original in it RE: When is a Grom? - peterbaron - 04-20-2024 It’s just a small calibre mod… from a dwarf goat to a champion bull
