RE: Motorcycle Cruiser Magazine 2017 CB1100 EX Walkaround - DAC - 07-07-2017 Did you catch the allusion to a sportier version coming later this year? Does the RS make it stateside? RE: Motorcycle Cruiser Magazine 2017 CB1100 EX Walkaround - Stichill_imp - 07-07-2017 I kinda thought the idle sounded a bit frantic, like it was variable and rising. Bike might have been stone cold though. RE: Motorcycle Cruiser Magazine 2017 CB1100 EX Walkaround - Cormanus - 07-07-2017 That sounds just lovely. RE: Motorcycle Cruiser Magazine 2017 CB1100 EX Walkaround - curlyjoe_imp - 07-07-2017 It makes me cringe when someone revs up an engine immediately after starting it. Sound good though!
RE: Motorcycle Cruiser Magazine 2017 CB1100 EX Walkaround - clearviewx - 07-08-2017 I don't hear any difference. RE: Motorcycle Cruiser Magazine 2017 CB1100 EX Walkaround - the Ferret - 07-08-2017 not even at idle? RE: Motorcycle Cruiser Magazine 2017 CB1100 EX Walkaround - Nortoon_imp - 07-08-2017 I don't have a earlier CB1100 to compare it to, but I find the CB1100 EX to be louder than most new Hondas. Whacking the throttle when a bike is not in gear does not produce the proper sound. You get too much cam chain noise, valve rattle, engine whine, and muffler buzz. A bike should be ridden slowly away from the camera and then back by it slowly in first or second to appreciate the new exhaust note. Mine burbles and pops when restrained in second gear at 40 KPH/25 MPH. People compared the CB500 exhaust to a scooter. That won't happen with the CB1100 EX. My neighbours have not shaken their fists at me yet, but they are aware I have a new motorcycle even though I ride quietly to and from my home. |
