Posting pictures directly on the site - KiowaEagle_imp - 05-29-2018

Max just posted an excellent tutorial on posting pictures using imgur and I encourage people to use it.

Posting pics on an offsite location definitely helps the site, saving space on the server, but it does have it's drawbacks. This site is full of great tutorials with I'm sure very useful pictures included that you can't see because photobucket changed their policies. So now those carefully crafted, meticulously illustrated tutorials aren't nearly as useful because you can't see the pictures.

You can post pics here right on the site so they're not dependent on another sites policies and won't disappear but the size needs to be 250 kb or less. Most people don't have the means to resize pictures, those tools usually come with better image editing software. But if you have MS Office you're in luck. It used to come packaged with a very good, simple image editor called Microsoft Office Picture Manager. It hasn't been in Office since the 2010 version but it can still be installed and used. The link below will show you how.

Probably a lot knew about this but just a reminder: if you have a Mac, open the pic with Preview>Tools>Adjust size and you can change the dimensions and resolution at will.
