Not sure I could deal with the crowds at the rally described, but we have riding friends who have a condo just a little ways up the gulf coast and we've talked about making that ride. Just can't figure the Chicago to Florida logistics yet, but we will because I love the Keys.

I've done the Poker Run a few times, and it's a great time. They close down Duvall St., home of the Duvall Crawl. Bikes take over and park from one side of the island to the other. Of course the ride down the Overseas Highway Is spectacular, especially sections like the 7-Mike Bridge. The only downside is it's quite hot in August, but once the sun sets its tolerable. My friends and I usually rent scooters when we arrive in Key West so we can get stupid without drawing the ire of the KW cops. It's pretty funny to see a bunch of "bada** biker" types lined up on US 1 on 50cc Vespas.
